From the interior, with mountainous massifs and traditional villages, to the sea, with fishing villages and cosmopolitan and world-renowned beaches, such as Nazaré with its canyon, or the vast sandy beach of Figueira da Foz with the longest wave in Europe, the Centre of Portugal region holds us for its historical heritage. Successful cases, and recognized by UNESCO, are the Monasteries of Alcobaça and Batalha, the Convent of Christ in Tomar, and the emblematic University of Coimbra. We cannot fail to mention the incredible interior of the region, with its beautiful Historical Villages, the unparalleled Serra da Estrela, with landscapes as far as the eye can see and glacial lagoons, or even the cities of Leiria, Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco and the beautiful village of Óbidos. To comfort the stomach there are flavours for all tastes: cheeses and sausages, fish stews and roasted pig, or honey and conventual sweets. The wines from the demarcated regions lift the spirit with distinction.
